Macy’s Holiday Parade

Location: 7th Street & Pine Street
The day after Thanksgiving, Macy’s hosts its annual Holiday Parade in downtown Seattle. Starting at the corner of 7th Street and Pine Street, the parade begins at 9:00 AM and runs a loop through downtown Seattle down 5th Avenue, University Street, and 4th Avenue. The parade ends at the Macy’s store location in Westlake Center. Featuring elaborately decorated floats, marching bands, sheep dogs, and Santa, it’s sure to be great fun for the whole family. This year is the last time you can experience the parade before Macy’s closes its downtown Seattle store1, so be sure to come out.
Christmas Ship Festival
Date: November 29 – December 23
Time: 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM
Location: Lake Union Park
This maritime parade has been held annually since 1949, making it one of the oldest Christmas events in Seattle. The Argosy Cruises Christmas Ship Festival is traditionally held the day after Thanksgiving and parades run until December 23. Brightly decorated sail boats and passenger ships are strung up with thousands of lights, they cruise through the waterfront neighborhoods around Lake Washington and Puget Sound. Visitors can look forward to festive music and even choirs keeping onlookers entertained! Attendees can buy tickets to ride the Christmas Ship Lead Boat where they’ll enjoy family-friendly entertainment onboard including Santa, sing-alongs, craft workshops, and an open bar.

During the winter months, the ballpark for the city’s Major League Baseball team, the Seattle Mariners, is transformed into a truly magical space featuring dazzling light displays and a mini ice-skating trail.
