What to Do on Labor Day?
There are plenty of activities to do in Seattle, which means there is something for everyone! From music festivals to state fairs, it’s almost impossible to be bored this holiday weekend.
State Fairs
Washington is home to some of the largest state fairs. With a wide variety of activities at each one, they are a great way to have some family fun in Seattle over Labor Day weekend. Here are two of the biggest:
- The Evergreen State Fair (September 2nd – 6th, 2021): An event filled with deep-fried desserts, animal fun, and a demolition derby!
- Washington State Fair (September 3rd – 26th, 2021): This fair has rides, delicious food, a concert series, and more!
Music Festivals
Music is a great way to bring people together for any holiday. That’s why heading to one of the many festivals going on this holiday weekend will make everyone happy. Each festival hosts so many types of musical and performance artists. Some are even star-studded events!
- Oak Harbor Music Festival (September 3rd – 5th, 2021): A festival lasting all of Labor Day weekend, featuring two main stages hosting more than 30 bands from all types of music genres and also includes food vendors and two beer gardens.
- Bumbershoot Festival (September 4th – 6th, 2021): Another festival full of different types of music and visual performers, from artists and dancers to comedians and poets!
Sporting Events
Seattle is home to many professional teams, and the Seattle Seahawks (NFL) and Seattle Mariners (MLB) might be the two more recognizable. Well, Labor Day weekend is also a great time for sporting events. The Seattle Mariners play the Arizona Diamondbacks on September 3rd, 4th, and 5th in Arizona, but don’t worry if you can’t make it to the baseball diamond.
